Brussels Airport Company active member of the 303030 City Climate Challenge
Brussels Airport Company is proud to be an ambassador within the 303030 City Climate Challenge.
This BECI/Brussels Chamber of Commerce-initiated co-creation forum presents a great opportunity to act right now for effective climate action by means of a new mode of collaboration between government, academia, citizens and private sector. In partnership with BECI and other leading businesses including Interparking, NMBS/SNCB and Tractebel, the 303030 City Climate Challenge intends to inspire and support the sustainability transformation of the city, the government and Brussels-based companies through collaborative innovation.
In line with our Strategic Vision 2040, our inputs into the 303030 City Climate Challenge are all about connectivity. Building upon the powerful open innovation ecosystem at Brussels Airport and further enriching the successful co-creation with our key mobility partners, our participation within the 303030 City Climate Challenge focuses on inter-modality and modal shift. This is an outstanding opportunity to help ensure the availability of efficient mass rapid transport between centers of economic growth, in this case the city and the airport. E.g. process innovations tailoring public transport schedules to airline schedules and digital innovations assisting public transport users to seamlessly connect across the extensive metropolitan and on-airport transport networks can make meaningful contributions to the sustainability transformation, both in the city and across the various parts of our airport site.
As part of its Strategic Vision 2040, Brussels Airport Company has put together a Quality Board to provide guidance to the company in the conception and design of ambitious planning projects and of the airport’s public spaces.
Brussels Airport strengthens its actions to reduce ultrafine particle emissions and moves its engine test run site
At the closing session of Forum 2040, Brussels Airport committed to undertake action in several areas based on the recommendations of the participants in the previous sessions.
