Information session for the inhabitants of Kortenberg and Steenokkerzeel
On Wednesday 24 January 2018 Brussels Airport Company organised an information meeting for the inhabitants of the municipalities of Steenokkerzeel and Kortenberg. During these information meetings the inhabitants and other persons interested were given more details on the impact on the surroundings of various aspects of the Strategic Vision 2040.
Brussels Airport launched its Strategic Vision 2040 in November 2016. Since then the airport has held several information meetings and launched the Forum 2040. In this Forum 80 participants discussed various aspects of the Strategic Vision 2040 in several sessions.
On 24 January Brussels Airport Company (BAC) held an information session for the inhabitants of the municipalities of Steenokkerzeel and Kortenberg in view of the spatial impact of the various options in the Strategic Vision 2040 on these municipalities. Presentations were given to the inhabitants and the members of Forum 2040 to give them more insight in the Strategic Vision itself and, more particularly, explain the impact on air and ground noise, spatial planning and emissions. The presentations on these different aspects are available here:
- Dutch: Grondgeluid - Luchtgeluid - Luchtkwaliteit - Mobiliteit - Baaninfrastructuur
- French: Bruit au sol - Impact sonore - Qualité de l'air - Mobilité - Adaptation à l'infrastructure des pistes
The participants were given the opportunity to ask questions which were then answered by the experts and BAC. Here you will find the answers to a selection of frequently asked questions.
Brussels Airport Company regrets that the second session was interrupted during the Q&A part. But given that all the questions were registered, BAC will send an answer to the participants at the information meeting that put them forward.
*The presentations/impact studies are made in the context of the Strategic Vision 2040, and not on the occasion of a defined project.
